Pelicana is one of South Korea's first-generation fried chicken franchises, founded in 1982 in Daejeon and known for its yangnyeom (sweet-spicy seasoned) chicken. Headquartered in Gyeryong, South Chungcheong Province, the brand operates roughly 1,000 franchised stores in Korea. Pelicana has franchised in the United States since 2019 through California-based Pelicana Franchise LLC, and entered Thailand in January 2025 via exclusive licensee Pelicana (Thailand) Co., opening its first store at Siam Square in Bangkok. The company runs a master-franchise program for additional overseas markets.
